“ Life is hard. Here is someone. ”
When things get tough and someone in my life shows up for me, I think of this line from Lorrie Moore's novel "Anagrams".
As parents, you strive to be that someone for your children, guiding them with love, wisdom, and understanding. But even the most devoted parents can find themselves overwhelmed by the challenges of raising a child, feeling uncertain about how to connect or how to best support their child's growth. Whether you need to gain parenting skills or seek therapy to heal from your own past, investing in your growth is the first step toward becoming the parent your child needs. Through therapy or coaching, you can learn to nurture your child's emotional health, foster a deeper bond, and create a loving environment where both you and your child can thrive.
Children, too, need someone to help them navigate the complexities of growing up, especially when they're facing emotional or behavioral challenges. If you have a child who needs extra support, therapy offers them a safe space to express their feelings, understand their emotions, and develop resilience.
And for adults who may not be parents and are struggling to form positive relationships due to past experiences, therapy offers a path to healing. By addressing unresolved childhood trauma, therapy helps you build the trust and emotional resilience needed to form deep, fulfilling connections with others. In the end, we all need someone - and through therapy, you can become that someone for yourself and those you care about.
Life is hard. Let me be your someone for now.
