About

Welcome!

I am a licensed clinical social worker based in Brooklyn, New York with over a decade of experience supporting families and children of all ages. My trauma-informed background is rooted in my early work with clients involved with the child welfare system in New York City and continues to drive my passion for helping families with young children navigate the challenges of life, big and small.

My time as an early childhood educator has been some of the most rewarding and stimulating years of my career as I found the sweet spot where the frameworks for social-emotional learning, anti-bias, and trauma all came together to achieve the same goal: to provide a safe, nurturing, self-affirming environment for children to learn and grow into their best selves with kindness and wonder for the world around them.

Growing into their best selves means that children are also learning and strengthening the skills they need to develop healthy relationships and become the fully emotionally complex beings we are all meant to be.

I have received extensive training in various modalities, e.g., TF-CBT (trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy), and CPP (child-parent psychotherapy), that support emotional regulation, executive functioning, and the parent-child bond. My philosophy leans heavily on using relationships and bonds to heal. Human beings are social creatures. We need each other to survive. Your child needs you to thrive. And so your bond is both the anchor and the ship we use to steer through the challenges you and your family are facing.

I not only use attachment-based therapies in my work with children and families, but with adults as well. I am dedicated to helping adults with unresolved childhood conflicts explore and work through their past so they too can grow into complex emotional beings capable of healthy, loving relationships.

I work best with children under the age of 12, and parents and adults looking to strengthen or repair their relationships. I specialize in childhood trauma and anxiety and I've worked with both adults and children who have suffered trauma and loss, grappled with anxiety, depression, and negative self-worth. I've seen children who had trouble behaving or focusing in school, families that have struggled to function as a unit, and parents who have struggled to connect with and understand their children. I've also worked with parents who struggle to reconcile their own upbringing with their parenting style, and adults who struggle to maintain genuine and meaningful relationships because of mistrust or a fear of intimacy or abandonment.
